How to take care of your nails during autumn

Usually fall is sort of hard time for nails. After hot summer, nails tend to brittle and break. Why is it happening?

Well, vitamins rich summer is far behind us, our bodies had time to collect and preserve enough of healthy minerals and vitamins. Though,  seems it takes its time to spend those, there is a good reason for it, and autumn is time for preparation.  During three short months our body is changing its working regime to tight winter one.
Sunny summer gave us enough of vitamin D, but hot temperatures dried out our nails, thus they became fragile.

Healthy Nutrition
One of the main and right things to do is to eat healthy.
To strengthen your nails try to eat products with vitamin A, such as liver, butter, carrot, tomatoes and fresh greens.

Vitamin B helps to digest proteins and stimulates nails growth. You can find it in following foods: egg yolk, ale yeast and germinated wheat grains.

Calcium is one of the major nail building elements, so don’t avoid dairy. Silicium from vegetables also helps our nails to look healthy, sulphur is essential for forming nail plate therefore don’t miss cabbages, onions and cucumbers.  Spinach and sea wheat rich of iodine has to be on your table not only during dinners in fancy restaurants.

What to do if you already missed preventive methods?

Beauty and cosmetic industry has a lot to offer in terms of protecting and nail care. Cuticle gels and oils are good to start with; apply at least twice a week.On a daily basis use non-oily hand creams, especially ones with Aloe Vera.  Vegetable masks are not recommended during fall, starch could cause even more dryness.

Nail baths.

Salt bath
You can use sea salt as well as ordinary cooking one. Make a salty rich mixture and put your hands in it for about 10 minutes.
Oil bath
Heat 100 grams of vegetable oil using steamer till it gets room temperature. Add one tablespoon of salt, leave your hands in mixture for 5-10 minutes, after what wear cotton gloves so the oil would absorb.
Gelatin bath
Melt down 1 tablespoon of gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water; let it cool down till room temperature. Leave your hands in for 10-15 minutes. You can use this procedure twice a week.
Olive oil and honey bath.
Beat one egg, add 1 teaspoon of honey, 2 teaspoons of oil slightly heat it on steam bath.  Make sure egg stays none boiled, put your nails. After 10 minutes remove mixture remains, apply nourish hand cream and don’t forget to put on gloves.
